Dave Smallhouse

Currently David is the Managing Partner in Miramar Ventures, LLC, a firm involved in real estate, private equity, and venture capital investments. Miramar Ventures is an active investor in angel and early stage ventures. Its portfolio includes bio science, drug development, life science, clean tech, and medical device companies, many with close ties to the University of Arizona and/or the Desert Angels of Southern Arizona.


David began his career as in agribusiness lending with Bank of America in Brawley, California, as an assistant vice president. He also served as an assistant vice president with Valley National Bank and as Vice President of Commercial Loans at Citibank in Tucson. He was a member of the CFO’s direct staff at Burr-Brown Corporation and one of two founders of Comercial del Mayo in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico, a business partnership active in the importation of construction materials and exportation of agricultural commodities to the United States and Asia.


A fifth-generation Tucsonan, David graduated from the University of California at Davis with a BS in agricultural economics and the University of Arizona with an MS in agricultural economics. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member of Desert Angels and recently became a member of the Arch Partners team. Civic activities include being a trustee of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and a member of the Tucson Airport Authority and the DM50.
